Every one of Schlage's L-Series locks meets ANSI Grade 1 standards for safety.

Privacy Lock with Outside Coin Turn: The latchbolt is retracted by the lever from either side. The deadbolt is thrown or retracted by the inside thumbturn our the coin turn outside. Throwing the deadbolt locks the outside lever. Rotating the inside lever simultaneously retracts the deadbolt and latchbolt, and unlocks the outside lever. To unlock from outside rotate coin turn and the deadbolt retracts and unlocks the outside lever. The inside lever is always free for immediate egress.
